Even though we are often asked for technical assistance, Stratos Group does not provide support for the games for which it has done guides or reviews. We may occasionally have an idea, but we will generally reply by directing you to another source.

Despite this, we're not going to leave you unarmed of information and just send you blindly out for support, so below we've compiled a list of things that you will NEED to know before you call (or e-mail) support:
  • Title and version of game being played

  • Computer Brand

  • Operating System

  • Processor

  • Amount of RAM in your system

  • Type of RAM used

  • Free space left on drive that game is installed to

  • Internet connection type and speed

  • Brand, model, and type of input device (joystick, mouse, etc)

  • What video card? Multiple video cards?

  • Sound card brand and model

  • Version of Direct X

  • CD-Rom type (more than one?) DVD? CD-RW? Both?

  • Version of drivers for your display adapters and sound card

  • Are you using a laptop?

  • Chipsets on motherboard
While not all of this information may be necessary, the more you have, the better armed you will be for dealing with their questions, and the better the support they will be able to provide.

As for contacting technical support, most manuals have a page or two dedicated to technical support, and provide contact information. If they do not, then chances are a card shipped with your game that had this information printed on it. If, however, this is not the case then you will usually need to contact the publisher of your game--they tend to handle support. If you do not know what their website is, then try something along the lines of www.companyname.com; this will work for many of them. If not, then simply go to www.google.com and do a search on their company name.

Lastly, if you simply cannot find any support contacts then you may try posting on our message boards and maybe one of the other users can help you. We don't guarantee anything, and you will need to give as much of the information from above as you can, but hey, it's worth a shot.
